High Performance Driver Education

If you want to improve your driving skills and get the most out of your car, you have found the right place. We offer personalized two-hour performance driving sessions to drivers of all track driving experience levels who want to get the most out of their cars on track. Each instruction session is $400.
Please call us to schedule at (512) 667-6250.

Tailored sessions to meet your needs and goals

We tailor each session to meet your specific needs and goals. Each session will be a combination of classroom and in-car instruction. We call these sessions mini-schools because you will learn so much in a relatively short time.

Private instruction to help improve your skills

Unlike HPDEs, where you may find yourself in a busy run group, private instruction will help you improve your skills by leaps and bounds, and you won't have to spend a whole weekend out of town at a track. Your instructor will work hard to make sure that you and your car leave happy and excited to get back on track.

Great introduction to Harris Hill Raceway

These sessions are also a great introduction to Harris Hill for anyone interested in membership. The cost of your first instruction session can be deducted from your membership initiation fee, making it an excellent way to see if H2R is for you.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Do I need a helmet?

No. We have plenty of helmets in all sizes available for you to use. If you already have an SA2010, SA2015, or SA2020, please bring it.

What if it’s cold or raining?

If the weather looks bad, it is up to you whether you'd like to come out or reschedule. We run rain or shine except for instances of extreme weather. Rain can be a great learning aid, as it means the limits of traction are at a much slower pace. If you decide to reschedule because of the weather, please call us as soon as you can to let us know.

Do you rent cars?

No. If you are interested in renting a car to drive on the track, contact the Longhorn Racing Academy.

How do I prepare my car?

Make sure that your tires are in good condition and are filled to the proper inflation levels. Check the door jam for your car's recommended levels. Torque your lug nuts and remove anything that could move around inside the car while you're on track. It's also a good idea to check your oil level.

Is it safe?

Getting behind the wheel of a car always entails some amount of risk, but we will do everything we can to keep you and your car safe and happy while on track.

H2R features plenty of run-off space, so if for some reason you were to go off track, there are few barriers to run into, just lots of open grass.

What cars do you allow?

We allow all cars as long as they are in good condition and have appropriate safety equipment.

Trucks and SUVs are not allowed. If you have a question about your car, please contact us.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and, most importantly, good shoes. Ideal driving shoes have thin rubber soles and are slim-fitting around your foot. The more feel you have of the pedals, the better.

What days are schools offered?

Please call us for availability. Generally, we have openings Wednesdays-Saturdays.

Best days to come out?

Weekdays usually have less traffic than weekends, but there will be plenty of room on the track for you, even on our busiest weekend.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming community environment, and we love when people bring their friends. They'll be more than welcome to sit through the classroom portions of the school and will be able to relax in the clubhouse or watch from the back porch while you are on track.

Is there an air tank available to fill my tires?

Yes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you will need to cancel, and we will be happy to reschedule.
