The Benefits
H2R Mini Schools are a great opportunity to see a race track from the driver's seat for the first time, or to shake the rust off for those who haven't been to the track in a while. These schools are meant to be introductory sessions to H2R and can be used to 'try out' the track or simply to get to know your car better. Any properly maintained and road-safe cars (no trucks) are welcome to participate in our Mini Schools.
In these schools, our instructors guide students from the classroom to hot laps in a very fun and safe condensed two-hour school. Cost is $250 + tax. Give us a shout to schedule a school time. Groups are welcome and gift certificates are available as well. The BreakdownEach school is broken down into four sessions: Session 1 - Classroom
The classroom session is spent in a brief orientation and safety discussion that will teach you the basics of driving on the track, as well as an introduction to skills that will be used to help you better control your car on both the track and the street. Session 2 - Lead/Follow
In this session, instructors lead students (driving their own cars) around the track for 20 minutes. This orients drivers to the track environment, teaches them the race 'line' and helps settle students in to their comfort zone on the track. Session 3 - In-car Instruction
This 25-minute session puts one of our private instructors in the passenger seat of your car to help you begin to learn how to really use your car the way it was meant to be used. Instruction will include pointers on how to properly brake, turn, apply throttle and how to generally learn to control your car, vs. letting your car control you. Session 4 - Hot Laps
This 25-minute culmination of the school lets you put what you've learned to the test. For advanced students who have proven their safety on course, it may be possible to go out on course without an instructor. Most folks choose to keep an instructor in the car and continue to add to their skill set. |
