Track Rules

Be aware and report any unsafe behavior to H2R staff.
This is not a race!

    General

  • No one is to enter the track without permission of H2R personnel.
  • Drivers and passengers are required to use an SA2005 or better-approved helmet.
  • Guests of members are limited to one at a time in the paddock or car, and are restricted from driving.

    Pit Lane

  • Pit lane, before the paddock entrance, is limited to 25 mph.
  • Pit lane should always be considered “hot.” Do not stop in pit lane. Always return to the paddock to stop.
  • Pit lane traffic must yield to cars on the track.
  • Either vertically extend your left fist OR use your left blinker to indicate you will be entering pit lane.
  • To pit-in, begin signaling before turn 9 and continue signaling until you are clear of the track.

    Lights and Flags

H2R uses a wireless safety lighting system to control the track. Designation for lights and flags are as follows:
  • Green Light: Track is clear.
  • Blinking Yellow Light: Caution, no passing.
  • Solid Yellow Light: Extended caution, no passing.
  • Blinking Red Light: Session is over. Make one cool down lap and return to the paddock.
  • Solid Red Light: Immediately come to a stop at the edge of the track and be aware of approaching emergency or utility vehicles.
  • Black Flag: If pointed at you, you are the offender. Make your way to the paddock.
  • Checkered Flag: Session is over. Make one cool down lap and return to the paddock.

    Passing

  • All passing is on the left side of the vehicle being overtaken.
  • No passing any vehicle displaying emergency flashers.
  • No passing when the track is under caution (yellow flag).
  • Passing is only allowed in designating passing zones as marked on the track map.
  • All passes must be completed prior to turn in at next corner.
  • Drivers being overtaken must visibly yield and:
    • Signal, by hand or right blinker, confirming the yield;
    • Move right if necessary to allow room for passing car on the left; and
    • Lift off the throttle if necessary to allow an easy pass.
  • It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver to make a safe, clean pass on the driver’s side of the vehicle being overtaken.

    Offs

  • Two wheels off: Slow to gain control, then cautiously return to the track surface.
  • Four wheels off: Same as above, except the driver is required to turn on his or her flashers and return to the paddock at reduced speed and off the racing line to check the vehicle for any damage before retuning to the track.
  • Spin: Immediately clutch in, brake in until the car stops. Turn on your flashers, restart the car if necessary, look around and, when clear, realign with the track and return to the paddock at reduced speed and off the racing line. Check your vehicle before returning to the track.
  • Repeated offs will be evaluated and corrected by H2R personnel.
